FAQ

Common questions

Can you run a proposed route?
Not as a surface rights pack, which covers one parcel. A route runs as a corridor pack (see Utilities and ROW): send the line as GeoJSON and it returns land use, productivity, wells, and pipeline and water crossings for each quarter section along it. The corridor pack does not include the tenure table.
Does it include the surface lease or title?
No. The pack covers the public record of infrastructure, tenure, and land characteristics. Leases, title, and compensation are not part of it.
How is this different from the Energy Bundle?
The Energy Bundle puts the same energy data on every parcel report in the app. The pack combines energy, tenure, agriculture, and an indicative right-of-way footprint for a parcel and delivers it as files you can put in the land file.
How is the pack delivered?
During the pilot we run the pack for your parcels and send you the files: JSON, CSV, and GeoJSON for your own tools, plus a printable report. There is no self-serve upload yet.
How current is the data?
Alberta regulator well, pipeline, and facility data refresh monthly, and Saskatchewan loads run weekly to monthly. The Canadian Drought Monitor refreshes monthly and the AAFC crop inventory is annual. Every section names its source and refresh cadence, with an as-of date where the data load records one, so you can see which vintage you are looking at.
