Share a Parcel Link: Sending /parcel/[lld] URLs to a Buyer, Tenant, or Adjuster

Every /parcel/[lld] URL works as a standalone shareable link with full Open Graph previews for LinkedIn, email, and Slack. Here's how to use it.

Share a Parcel Link

The /parcel/[lld] URL is built to be shareable. Drop the link into an email, LinkedIn DM, Slack thread, or text message and the recipient sees a rich preview before they click — and the rendered page works without an account (subject to the 5-reports-per-month free quota).

The URL is the description

The URL pattern is townshipcanada.com/parcel/<legal-land-description>, where the description is normalized to dash-separated format:

  • townshipcanada.com/parcel/SE-14-29-21-W2
  • townshipcanada.com/parcel/093P08
  • townshipcanada.com/parcel/NW-22-44-9-W5

Case and whitespace tolerance — these all resolve to the same parcel:

  • parcel/SE-14-29-21-W2
  • parcel/se-14-29-21-w2
  • parcel/SE 14 29 21 W2 (spaces auto-converted)

When the URL is pasted into LinkedIn, email clients, Slack, or any other Open Graph-aware surface, the recipient sees:

  • Title: Parcel Report — SE-14-29-21-W2 | Township Canada
  • Description: SE-14-29-21-W2: 160 acres in Saskatchewan · LSRS Good · dominant crop Canola. (auto-generated from the report data)
  • Type: Website
  • Canonical URL: the parcel URL itself

Plus a JSON-LD Place schema block for search engines, with geographic coordinates and additional properties (area, LSRS class, dominant crop). Result: better search positioning + rich previews when shared.

Who you're sharing it with

Buyer offers. When sending a parcel description to a prospective buyer, attaching the link lets them confirm what they're buying — soil productivity, recent crop history, treaty overlap — before responding to the offer.

Tenant lease discussions. A landowner can send a tenant the parcel link as part of the lease conversation. The tenant sees the productivity rating and recent rotation, which informs their bid on per-acre rent.

Crop insurance adjuster onboarding. When walking an adjuster through a claim involving an unfamiliar parcel, the link does most of the orientation work without back-and-forth on coordinates.

M&A diligence handoffs. When a junior analyst needs to review 60 parcels in a deal book, sending them the list of parcel URLs is much faster than producing 60 individual PDF reports.

Quota implications when sharing

Each parcel view counts toward the recipient's monthly free quota (5 reports per month per signed-in user or per IP). If the recipient is on Ag Lite, repeated views of the same shared parcel within a minute don't double-count (1-minute dedupe window).

For prospects expected to view many parcels, the upgrade CTA on each report routes them to /pricing for Ag Farmer or Ag Investor.

What the report doesn't share

A few things stay private and aren't surfaced by the parcel link:

  • Your portfolio data — a parcel link doesn't reveal that the parcel is in your saved portfolio
  • Your account info — the parcel page is anonymous; recipients don't see who sent them the link unless you mention it
  • Per-parcel notes — Land Portfolio Manager notes (when that feature ships) stay private to the account
