Watercourses and water bodies on or within 500 m (1:50,000 hydrology), and wetlands on the parcel: ABMI in Alberta, an AAFC land-use proxy elsewhere.

Every section
Each section names its dataset and publisher, with the licence, refresh cadence, and an as-of date where the data load records one, so you can cite it or check it.

The Environmental Desktop Screening Pack assembles what the public record shows. The judgment, the site work, and the signature stay with you.
- Not a Phase I environmental site assessment, and not a substitute for one.
- No site visit or interviews. Spills and releases, contaminated sites registries, storage tanks, historical air photos, and protected areas are not loaded, and the checklist marks them Not covered.
- It shows what regulators publish. Unlicensed, unrecorded, or historical activity outside those records will not appear.
- Manitoba has wells but no pipeline, facility, or orphan inventory layers in the product.

FAQ
Common questions
Is this a Phase I ESA?
No. A Phase I ESA is a professional assessment with a records review, site reconnaissance, and interviews. The pack supplies part of the records review: the published energy infrastructure, land use, and water context for the parcel, with the record types it could not check marked Not covered.
Which records does it search?
Regulator well, pipeline, and facility lists (AER in Alberta, the Saskatchewan GeoAtlas, and Manitoba wells), orphan flags from the AER well list and the Orphan Well Association inventory in Alberta and the orphan sites list in Saskatchewan, AAFC land use and crop inventory, 1:50,000 hydrology, and ABMI wetlands in Alberta. Each section names its dataset and data date.
Can it include the surrounding parcels?
Each pack covers one parcel and screens a ring around it, 500 m by default, for wells, pipelines, and facilities. If you want surrounding parcels to get their own checklist, send them too and we run a pack for each.
How is the pack delivered?
During the pilot we run the pack for your parcels and send you the files: JSON, CSV, and GeoJSON for your own tools, plus a printable report. There is no self-serve upload yet.
How current is the data?
Alberta regulator well, pipeline, and facility data refresh monthly, and Saskatchewan loads run weekly to monthly. The Canadian Drought Monitor refreshes monthly and the AAFC crop inventory is annual. Every section names its source and refresh cadence, with an as-of date where the data load records one, so you can see which vintage you are looking at.
